You soak at your own risk: check the official status link and posted rules on site before you go. We accept no liability for injury, loss or trespass.

Naegleria fowleri, a rare but nearly always fatal brain-infecting ameba, “thrives in warm freshwater lakes, rivers, and hot springs.” CDC advice: “Always keep your head above water in hot springs.” CDC, Naegleria fowleri Infections (page dated July 21, 2025) · checked 2026-10-15

Thermal water can scald. In Yellowstone, “Burns from thermal features are a common cause of serious injury and death in the park” and “it is illegal to swim or bathe in any water that is entirely of thermal origin.” We exclude springs inside Yellowstone, Lassen Volcanic and Hawaiʻi Volcanoes national parks.
